Python users in the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill/Carrboro) North Carolina region meet on the fourth Thursday of each month (except for the November and December special meetings on the third Thursdays). We welcome you to join us. We are a small, fun-loving band of Python® zealots trying to learn more. We have a very loose organization, charge no dues, and range from newbies to gurus. We are focused on improving the usability of Python through self-education and outreach as a mutual aid society.

Next TriPython Meeting: IPv6 and You, Thursday, June 27, 7:00pm at SplatSpace, 331 W. Main St., Durham. Noted IPv6 evangelist Kevin Otte will help us future-proof our application development. As always, unannounced lightning talks are always welcome. Lightning talks are 5 to 10 minutes extemporaneous expositions on a topic of interest to you, something you recently learned, kind of like a show and tell. We'll be meeting at Splatspace, a non-profit member-supported workshop and hacker meeting place. Splatspace is located in the basement of the Snow Building at 331 W. Main St. in Durham. Parking (free exit after 7pm) is in the back of the building in the lot off Ramseur St. on the downtown Durham loop (one way, approach Ramseur from W. Main St. or W. Chapel Hill St.. If you arrive after 7pm, please call 919-704-4225(HACK) to be let in the door.

Have a project you want to show off, share, seek help with, or just get some work done surrounded my like minded Python lovers? Join us for our monthly project night and do just that! Don't have something to work on? Just need some help with Python? Show up and enjoy the energy, sprint on an open source project, find something interesting to contribute to or be inspired by! The setting is informal and there is no schedule, so don't worry if you show up past the start time.

Next TriPython Raleigh Project Night: Tuesday, July 2, 6pm at WebAssign, NCSU Centennial Campus, 1791 Varsity Drive, Suite 200, Raleigh. Raleigh Project Night meets on first Tuesdays. Train

TriPython is cohosting a special Python Web Programming Workshop, August 5-9, 2013 on the campus of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This workshop starts with Internet sockets and protocols and progressively works up through several Python web frameworks. Not to be missed!

TriPython developed the highly successful PyCamp boot camp program for Python user group outreach, now in its eighth year. Along the way we've taken PyCamp to Seattle, Budapest, Toronto, Los Angeles, Houston, Penn State and Washington DC. PyCamp will be the official Python training program for PyOhio 2013 on the campus of Ohio State University, July 22-28, 2013 and PyCon Canada 2013 on the campus of the University of Toronto, August 9-13, 2013. Following that, PyCamp goes to Seattle, September 9-13 on the campus of the University of Washington.

TriPython members at Caktus Consulting Group presented their second Django Bootcamp on Saturday January 12 and Sunday January 13, 2013. This event was a two day beginners' course for learning the basics of building a Django web application. Designed for developers with basic programming experience, this course provided the essentials needed to build and develop a simple Django application in a hands-on and interactive setting. The training focused on the construction of a crossword drill application to illustrate Django’s architecture and ecosystem.

TriPython hosted the first large-scale Zope community event in the western hemisphere with participation from five continents.

TriPython sponsored the first ever Plone Bootcamp, the largest Plone training meeting in the world to date. 2009 marked the fifth year TriPython sponsored Plone Bootcamps.

Over 1000 people on six continents have been to TriPython boot camps!

Plone Boot Campers for 2008 got an all new updated program based on buildout.

TriPython hosted the first international Zope conference.

TriPython helped the new Houston ZPUG raise $1800 in startup funds.

2006 PyCampers are ecstatic about functional programming with Python.

The world's first Plone Bootcamp was hosted by TriPython in January 2005.

The March 2006 TriPython Plone Bootcamp was a whoop-it-up affair!

The August 2007 TriPython Plone Bootcamp was the largest ever held.

TriPython hosted its first Advanced Plone Bootcamp in the August 2007 heat wave.
